This is the dua of a man who stood alone — one prophet against an entire city that had celebrated corruption for generations. It is five words in Arabic. It contains no long list of requests, no elaborate phrases. Just complete honesty: My Lord, support me against the corrupting people. When you have done everything in your power and the corruption around you is still overwhelming — these are the words.
🤲 The Complete Dua
🤲 The Complete Dua of Prophet Lut
Five words. Made after years of calling a corrupt people — after mockery, threats, and total rejection. The shortest prophetic dua in this series, and perhaps the most raw.
Transliteration:Rabbi-nsurni 'ala-l-qawmi-l-mufsideen
Translation:"My Lord, support me against the corrupting people."

📌 What Most Articles Miss: The brevity of this dua is itself a profound lesson. Lut did not need elaborate words — he had already done everything he could. This is the dua of someone who has exhausted every human option and has arrived at the only door left: complete reliance on Allah alone.

By the time Lut made this dua, he had spent years calling his people to the worship of Allah alone and to abandoning their public immorality. He had tried logical arguments, moral appeals, and direct warnings. The response was not debate or disagreement — it was mockery, threats, and demands that he and his small group of followers be expelled from the city.
"And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, 'Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds.'"
— Surah Al-Ankabut 29:28 · The verse that immediately precedes the dua
He named the corruption clearly. He did not soften it, minimize it, or avoid it. And immediately after this declaration, came the dua — placing the matter entirely in Allah's hands:
قَالَ رَبِّ انصُرْنِي عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
"He said, 'My Lord, support me against the corrupting people.'"
— Surah Al-Ankabut 29:30 · From clarity about the problem — directly to Allah for the solution
📌 The Sequence That Matters: Lut first named the corruption clearly and publicly. Then he turned to Allah. This is the prophetic method — clarity first, then tawakkul. He did not make dua instead of speaking out. He spoke out, then made dua. Both steps were necessary.
Five Words That Changed the World
Lut stood at his door with no army, no allies, no physical power. The entire city was against him. And he turned — as every prophet turned — to the only One whose support actually matters.
Five words. And the angels came. The mob was blinded. The city was overturned. And Lut was saved.
You are not Lut. Your situation is not Sodom. But if you have ever felt the weight of corruption pressing in — if you have ever stood for truth and felt completely alone — then these words were preserved in the Quran for exactly that moment. For you.
May Allah support you against every form of corruption that surrounds you, grant you the firmness of Lut, and send His help at exactly the moment you need it most.
