🤲 8 Duas 📖 Arabic & Translation ✦ Sahih Sources 🌙 Hour of Acceptance
← Back to Jummah

Friday holds a special place in Islam as the best day of the week — and making the right duas for Friday can transform this blessed day into a source of immense spiritual reward.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasized Friday's significance and taught specific supplications to maximize its blessings. This comprehensive guide explores the essential Friday duas, when to make them, their meanings, and how to incorporate them into your weekly spiritual practice.

01

Why Friday is Special for Duas

☀️
The Best Day of the Week

Friday is the day Adam ﷺ was created, the day he entered Paradise, and the day the Hour will be established. The most blessed day in the weekly cycle.

🤲
Duas Are Never Rejected

There is a time on Friday when no Muslim asks Allah for anything while standing in prayer except that it will be granted to him.

📝
Angels Record Your Actions

Special angels witness Friday prayers and record the names of those who arrive early, giving precedence and reward based on arrival time.

🌍
A Day of Gathering

Just as Muslims gather for Jummah prayer, the Day of Judgment will also be a day of gathering. Observing Friday prepares believers for that ultimate assembly.

"The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On it Adam was created, on it he entered Paradise, and on it he was expelled from it. And the Hour will not be established except on Friday."
— Sahih Muslim

4 During Khutbah
05

During the Friday Khutbah

While listening to the khutbah, make these duas silently in your heart. Do not speak — even telling someone to be quiet breaks the rule.

For Guidance:

Rabbi-shraḥ lī ṣadrī wa yassir lī amrī.
"My Lord, expand my chest and make my affair easy for me."

For Forgiveness:

Rabbanā ẓalamnā anfusanā wa il-lam taghfir lanā wa tarḥamnā lanakūnanna mina-l-khāsirīn.
"Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."

6 Hour of Acceptance
07

For the Hour of Acceptance

This is the most critical dua time on Friday — when supplications are never rejected. Most scholars say it falls in the last hour before Maghrib.

For Forgiveness:

Allāhumma innī ẓalamtu nafsī ẓulman kathīrā, wa lā yaghfiru-dh-dhunūba illā Ant, fa-ghfir lī maghfiratan min ʿindik, wa-rḥamnī innaka Anta-l-Ghafūru-r-Raḥīm.
"O Allah, I have greatly wronged myself, and no one forgives sins except You. So grant me forgiveness from Yourself and have mercy on me. Indeed, You are the Forgiving, the Merciful."

For Paradise:

Allāhumma innī as'aluka-l-jannata wa aʿūdhu bika mina-n-nār.
"O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and seek refuge in You from the Fire."

For All Good:

Allāhumma innī as'aluka mina-l-khayri kullihi ʿājilihi wa ājilih, mā ʿalimtu minhu wa mā lam aʿlam.
