Prophet Nuh
The Prophet of Patience and Perseverance
Nuh عليه السلام is one of the greatest Prophets in Islam — a man of extraordinary patience who called his people to Allah for 950 years without wavering, and whose story is a timeless lesson in faith, perseverance, and trust in Allah's promise.
He is one of the five Ulul Azm — the Prophets of firm resolve — alongside Muhammad ﷺ, Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa عليهم السلام. Allah sent him to a people who had turned away from the pure monotheism of Adam, sinking into idol worship and corruption. For nearly a millennium, Nuh called them by day and by night, in private and in public, with wisdom and with warning.
When his people refused, Allah commanded him to build an ark. They mocked him as he built it on dry land far from the sea. But when the great flood came, only those who believed were saved — a small number of believers and a pair of every creature. The ark of Nuh is not just a vessel of wood and nails; it is the eternal symbol that those who hold on to Allah's guidance will always find safety, no matter how high the waters rise.
