Prophet Sulayman
Prophet, King of Kings, Master of Wind and Jinn
Sulayman عليه السلام was granted what no human being before or after him was ever given — a kingdom so vast and complete that Allah Himself declared it would belong to no one else after him. He commanded the wind, controlled the jinn, understood the speech of every creature, and ruled over an empire that stretched beyond the visible world. Yet with all of this, he remained a Prophet who fasted, prayed, and wept before his Lord.
He was the son of Dawud عليه السلام, and inherited prophethood and wisdom alongside his extraordinary kingdom. The wind was made to travel at his command — a month's journey in the morning and a month's journey in the evening. The jinn worked for him, building palaces, temples, and diving into the depths of the sea at his word. Armies of men, jinn, and birds marched together under his banner. When a hoopoe bird brought him news of the Queen of Sheba — Bilqis — and her people who worshipped the sun, Sulayman wrote a letter in the name of Allah and summoned her with wisdom and grandeur.
Yet his greatest moment was not his power — it was his prayer. He asked Allah for a kingdom no one else could hold, not out of arrogance, but as a sign of Allah's unique favour. And Allah granted it. His story teaches that worldly power, when held by a believer who remains grateful, becomes an act of worship. Sulayman never forgot the source of his kingdom for a single day — and that is the secret of why Allah gave it to him.
